hard work + patience

My sister carved this for me with a laser!  Isn't that amazing?  (Yes, that's a wooden Kitchen-Aid charm.)  There are so many things that I want to learn someday, not the least of which is wielding a laser cutter.

For now: managing time better (if I write out an hourly schedule for myself before the day begins, it helps keep me on task), using Adobe Creative Suite (you can learn any program ever with Lynda!), keeping a grocery budget (requires planning the week's meals in advance; here's a simple planner), giving compliments (a lifelong endeavor).

What else are you working on mastering?

  1. What a unique and thoughtful gift. I really enjoy peeking in on you and the little bits you share on here about your life. Where did you start on Lynda?! I am contemplating going back to school for graphic design or teaching myself the Creative Suite by way of Lynda.com. I'd love to hear what you think about your learning experience. Have a great day. xx

  4. Love the necklace! I wish I was handy with that kind of stuff myself.

I'm working on time management myself so I don't fall behind in classes. I also really need to get on the intern hunting thing.

  6. I'd add, 'accepting a compliment' to that list: you haven't seen awkward till you've seen me try to graciously accept one :)

  7. That's a wonderful necklace!! What an amazing creation it is. I'm currently trying to master running. I am trying by best to work towards being able to run 5 kilometres ... it's been ages since I've been able to do that, so we'll see how it goes ...

  8. I love the wooden charm, very sweet!
I'm currently working on finding the balance between managing my time well, and over-managing so much that things aren't as enjoyable as they should be.

  9. AHHH!!! That necklace! It is amazing! I am working on not being such a pushover to myself. Should I run another 5 minutes? Nah go get in the shower! Should I refrain from eating a candy bar? Hell no! Chocolate is tasty! Etc. I tell people no at work all the time, but can't seem to tell myself.
